GREATER Manchester Chamber is to help firms who are bowled over by tax issues and feel they are on a sticky wicket.

The Small Business Tax Workshop, organised by Greater Manchester Chamber in conjunction with HM Customs and Excise, Inland Revenue and the Small Business Service, will take place this Thursday at Old Trafford Cricket Ground.

Commenting on the event, Philip Maloney, economic research executive at Greater Manchester Chamber, said: "Tax is unavoidable for people running a business, but this free workshop will help to make the system a lot easier to deal with.

"Experts from the three departments will be on hand to outline what help and support is available. They will also share tips on how businesses can limit the amount of time they spend dealing with tax problems and I hope people will be interested to hear what they have to say."

The free event will be held at Lancashire County Cricket Club from 8.15am until 10.15am. Refreshments will be provided.
