ROSSENDALE residents will have another chance to meet leading local politicians and discuss important issues at a Lancashire Local meeting to be held at Haslingden Community Link on Thursday.

The meeting will begin at 6.30pm and is organised by Lancashire County Council in partnership with Rossendale Council.

County councillors, representing Rossendale wards and borough councillors will be debating important local issues throughout the evening and the public is invited to contribute their views and opinions.

County Councillor Bob Wilkinson, who will chair the meeting, said: "Local people can come along to this meeting in order to find out about important services in their area and put forward their views."

At the meeting, residents' views will be sought on the provision of alternative recycling containers for Rossendale council's kerbside waste collection scheme.

This may apply to residents who have particular access or waste storage problems.

Lancashire Local is part of Lancashire County Council's "Locality Focus" agenda that aims to improve local services by close consultation with local partners and community groups.
