FOLK artist Bram Taylor has combined his love of music and photography for his magnificent seventh solo album.

The international Leigh performer has featured his striking snap of a sunset over Pennington Flash on the sleeve of his new CD "The Night is Young", a 15 track collection of traditional and contemporary songs.

Bram, whose photographic work has been used by other artists, has now celebrated 20 years as a Fellside Recording artists and 30 years as a British folk music stalwart.

The new CD, which contains a generous selection of top quality material, has received rave reviews and can be purchased or ordered from HMV and all good music shops.

Bram is now preparing for another busy year which starts with "An Evening with Bram Taylor" hosted by Boothstown Methodist Church on Saturday, February 5, at 7.30pm. Tickets at £5 (including hot pot supper) are available from Joyce Aitken on 0161 799 4296 and Boothstown Library.

On Saturday, March 5, he will also be in the line up of performers at St Joseph's Hall, Leigh, for the annual Joe Roberts Memorial Concert with Calico, who are celebrating their silver jubilee, and Penny Gate. Tickets are £7.50 from Pauline on 01942 604603 or Des on 01942 674868.

Bram crosses the pond in March to start his seventh USA concert tour with performances booked at a variety of venues in Florida. On his return he will be touring the UK extensively performing at both festivals and clubs.
