A DYNAMIC dancing duo came face to face with entertainment guru Simon Cowell in a bid to prove to Britain they’ve got talent.

Entertainers Lynne Wareing and Paul Forber have been teaching modern jive dance at the Longfield Suite in Prestwich for 11 years and give lessons to 200 people each week.

When producers for the fourth series of ITV1 hit Britain’s Got Talent saw them strut their stuff out on the dance floor, they gave the couple, who come from Stockport, a fast-track pass straight to the audition stage.

Their act was one of only 120 to perform on the Manchester leg of the audition tour, before Cowell and fellow judges Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan.

The show received 25,000 applications.

Lynne and Paul’s jive performance, set to the music of Taio Cruz’s Break Your Heart, is to be screened on ITV1 in early April.

Last year’s audition shows attracted 13 million viewers.

“We have done a few bits of work for ITV before, but I don’t exactly know what inspired the producers to get in touch with us,” said Lynne, aged 40.

She added: “Our first performance was just for a producer and a cameraman at Manchester Central and we got through to the televised auditions.

“It will make good television. I hope they show it because we had a bit of banter with Simon Cowell and we got one over on him, which was quite funny.”

Paul, aged 48, said: “The audition itself was a very long day before we finally took to the stage at the Manchester Opera House in front of the judges. Ant and Dec were also in the wings giving interviews.

“Already people have asked us to cabaret our performance as a direct result of our audition.”
