Call for action on danger road in Darcy Lever

SPEEDING cars are putting a business — and its customers — at risk, it is claimed.

Now businesswoman Elizabeth Cooper is demanding action after a car smashed into the entrance to her beauty salon.

She said it was the fifth time her business in Radcliffe Road, Darcy Lever, has been affected by accidents in just 12 months.

Mrs Cooper, who owns Hair and Beauty, arrived at work on Saturday morning to discover the wall at the front of her salon had caved in and car parts were strewn across the road.

The driver of an unknown car hit the slate wall and drove off sometime between 8pm on Friday and 8.40am on Saturday.

Mrs Cooper, who lives in the flat above the business, said: “The amount of damage that has been caused in unbelievable.

“Whoever has done it must be severely injured.

There is a bumper and parts of the car all along the road.”

Police said they had been made aware of the incident and would investigate at a later stage.
