A £4 MILLION fund to support “green energy”
projects in rural areas of Bolton has been launched.
Grants between £200,000 to £500,000 are available to charities, community groups and microenterprises — small businesses that employ fewer than 10 people.
The Rural Carbon Challenge Fund wants to hear from rural groups which are looking to install renewable energy systems, such as wind turbines.
It also aims to support organisations which will provide training and education to other groups on how to be more environmentally friendly.
The money comes from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
