BRAVE Claire Topcu spoke out last night and criticised the sentence given to her attacker.
“I am totally disappointed,” she said.
“The police have done all that hard work and all the time they have spent doing such a good job. It is all a big let-down.
“How can someone come into your home, beat you up, hold a knife to your son’s throat and tie you up and only get six years?”
She believes she will never get over the trauma.
“How could any mother ever get over seeing their son gagged, tied up and held at knifepoint and pleading for his life?” she said.
“No mother can ever get over that.”
Despite the ordeal and the extra security measures, which she says have transformed her once-dream home into a prison, she is determined not to move and is set on making a success of her cattery business.
She said: “I am not going to let them drive me out of my home.
“I feel like moving, but I won’t let it happen. It would be too easy to let them win.”
