Hunt for two East Lancashire burglars on the run

TWO convicted burglars are on the run in East Lancashire after breaching the terms of their prison licence.

Michael John Daniel Jackson, 24, from Blackburn, and John William Hogg, 34, from Clayton-le-Moors, are both wanted by authorities on prison recall.

Police are appealing for information on the whereabouts of both men, who will now have to serve the remainder of their sentences.

Jackson was originally sentenced in May 2008 to 18 months in prison for burglary, by Preston Crown Court.

It is strongly believed he is still in the Blackburn or Accrington areas.

Hogg was jailed for 32 months for a burglary in March 2008.

It is thought he could still be in the Accrington or Blackburn area but has been known to travel to other parts of England, and may recently have been in the Truro area of Cornwall.

Inspector John Clucas said: “I would ask the public to be vigilant and report any sightings to the police.

"We want these people bringing to justice and any details the public may have could be crucial.”

Stop letting scum out early then, it's as simple as that. If someone is sentenced to 18 months, and they behaves themselves whilst inside, then let them out after 18 months. If they don't behave themselves, INCREASE the sentence. Whats wrong with this country?

Well said Stone Island, above: Other than shortening the occupancy of prison cells what good does letting these individuals out early. Yes, the full sentence should be served but the threat of adding on for back conduct should be a good enough deterrent!

Jack Straw has a lot to answer for and does get on my nerves watching him playing the parliamentary game of shaking his head and tuting at the opposition. Childs play, what an arrogant twit!

a lot of the law`s we have in place today were brought in by you lot"
the so called conservative party.
yes if someone is sent down for 18 months he/she should do the 18 months but to say it`s jack to blame for the way things are just goes to show what a clown you are.
the laws we have in place today must be changed but jack can not do it by himself.
it`s the job of the h-o-c to do this.
stone island why not have a go at this lot.
