Blackburn crack house closed

A CRACK house has been closed down after police were tipped off by resident complaining about loud music.

A flat in Merchants Landing, Blackburn, has been served with a notice because of drug use and supply.

Locals contacted officers from the South East Neighbourhood Team to report noise pollution and anti-social behaviour.

When police looked into the tenants, they discovered a constant stream of comings and goings.

PC Amar Beg said: “There’s been a lot of anti-social behaviour from the flat since October, loud music being played and constant activity.

“On February 5 we executed a drugs warrant and found 10 wraps of heroin.”

PC Beg served the closure order yesterday and police promised it was ‘the first of many in the area’.

Neighbourhood Sergeant Mark Cruise said: “This is the first in the Queens Park and Audley area, but there is going to be a spate of them so if you are dealing drugs now is the time to think about stopping.

“The law abiding citizens in Merchants Landing were happy to pick up the phone and involve the police with what appeared just to be loud music.

"They were pointing at this one door.

“But further evidence revealed the behaviour was linked to drug supply an a prosecution is now highly likely.

“Crack house closures give residents a bit of peace and quiet.

“It’s the apparent brashness of these people who think they are above the law which gets up the public’s nose.

“We are taking action and these closure orders make life very uncomfortable.”

Drug dealers know that the drugs they deal will destroy and can kill. They are nothing other than low life scum.

Well done the Blackburn Police. Please keep up the good work!

Tosh is talking just that ! Every INDEPENDENT crime survey says that crime is down. Even the Tories say that crime is down. The figures vary, but the most reliable and authoritative source is the British Crime Survey. That says crime is down by 36% since 1997.
Remember this is not any dictatorship or political party saying this but a totally independent and reliable source. Check it out on the internet.
Tosh - how many murders / arson attacks were there in 1997 ?????

I live in the area and called the Police re: an incident in the area last Wednesday - the Police finally rang back yesterday? What a joke. Why did it take from October to now for such action to be taken regading this crack house?. Drugs have been dealt from this area for months. I made the Police aware of this several times but was just ignored. Well done PC Beg you have finally done something!!!

Good question. Why has it took so long? The Police seem to finally be doing something, but lets see if this is just a short term public relations exercise or the norm for the future.

And...... they were going to the supermarkets and drinking large amounts of alcohol as well in this house. Young People get noisy and are often anti-social when they are drunk and being poisoned by cheap alcohol supplied by Tesco and Asda.

Believe me they do everything possible!!!!!!! The amount of paperwork/evidence needed is astronomical!!! They probably didnt respond quickly due to the amount of work needed for this case. Well done PC Beg and your team. You are finally clearing up the mess!

Come on Ken, how do you know they don’t bother anyone?
Prove it by letting us all know who these drug addicts are. You would be helping them in the long run!
-
You can’t buy heroin from Tesco so have to buy from drug dealers who often mix undesirable items with it, to increase the volume they have bought to fool the purchaser. They don’t care, scum dealers only care for themselves.

Goodness me whereistedward above, you do stay up late!
Hope your now fully refreshed and not too upset after watching your pretend labour party leader putting himself and his best no-friend Tony Blair before all else. What a shame to belittle all those who are suffering continuing loss in what we now know they both contrived. Tony Blair’s ego trip!
The first thing that Gord did after finally taking control of number 10 was to prove both their admirations for Margaret Thatcher by inviting her around. All smiles, hand shakes and all. Don’t worry Marge, we’ll carry on the good work for you. Nobody will ever know, just between the two of us, wink, wink! However, the wartime exploits of Margaret Thatcher have definitely been walked over without any doubt.
But, it’s not our fault, honest. Hands on heart!
-
So Ted, after reading your constant fixation regarding those two pitiful individuals and there followers such as our very own Tony Blair admirer Janet Anderson, please do us all a big favour: Get yourself a first class railway ticket to Coventry and stay there. You’ll like it there. Will do you a world of good. Nice and quiet.

Realist ?

Many people use Heroin and for most of the time never bother anyone. Those who have spent very little time on Drugs rely solely on pandering to the stigma and stereotypical veiw of a drug addict which for the most part is a fantasy. Heroin is not just smoked by unemployed people. I don't use it myself. I never have, but I have known others that have and they certainly don't look anything like a typical drug addict. Some are doctors, nurses and social workers who spend their working hours helping others. Not the Scum beer barons you seem to know who happily like to see their product finding it's way directly into the homes and fridges of every child in the land for less than a decent packet of crisps. (Sometimes I wonder what timeteam you are living in mate I really do) :)

People take drugs. Period. They grow out of the ground or their effects are manufactured by chemistry professionals and made into tablets and other medicines.

If I am ill, I don't need a second opinion from a professional. I need something to make me feel better and I Thank God for Plants!

I am not ashamed or too arrogant to admit that when I don't feel well I need something to make me feel better. If feeling better is a crime then you had better find God and lock him up for creating and growing drugs as well as the need and demand.

NOISE = BOOZE! not crack you numpties. People on crack cannot hear themselves think. More Police publicity, mis-information and lies to cover up the fact that allowing alcohol into the homes and fridges of every child in the land has had a serious, destructive effect on the well being of teenagers on every council estate in the country. The country is awash with BOOZE which leads drunken teenagers to experiment with other things. The Policies of the government are designed to outlaw the drugs and not to outlaw the BOOZE that leads to other, non legal forms of drug-taking. Heroin users and crack heads are usually very very quiet people and wouldn't disturb anyone.
I don't see many Policemen campaigning on behalf of our teenagers to ban the rampant greed and profiteering of the beer barons that has destroyed so many lives. Maybe they are retarded from drink and more worried about their self serving pensions and early retirement.

Ken Shuffles, burnley says...

The only thing the Police are actually interested in is good quality Police Publicity. Anyone who thinks any different is insane and probably believes there is a god too. This lot will believe anything anyone in a uniform tells them and should be locked up for their own protection until they come to their senses.
