A CRACK house has been closed down after police were tipped off by resident complaining about loud music.
A flat in Merchants Landing, Blackburn, has been served with a notice because of drug use and supply.
Locals contacted officers from the South East Neighbourhood Team to report noise pollution and anti-social behaviour.
When police looked into the tenants, they discovered a constant stream of comings and goings.
PC Amar Beg said: “There’s been a lot of anti-social behaviour from the flat since October, loud music being played and constant activity.
“On February 5 we executed a drugs warrant and found 10 wraps of heroin.”
PC Beg served the closure order yesterday and police promised it was ‘the first of many in the area’.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Mark Cruise said: “This is the first in the Queens Park and Audley area, but there is going to be a spate of them so if you are dealing drugs now is the time to think about stopping.
“The law abiding citizens in Merchants Landing were happy to pick up the phone and involve the police with what appeared just to be loud music.
"They were pointing at this one door.
“But further evidence revealed the behaviour was linked to drug supply an a prosecution is now highly likely.
“Crack house closures give residents a bit of peace and quiet.
“It’s the apparent brashness of these people who think they are above the law which gets up the public’s nose.
“We are taking action and these closure orders make life very uncomfortable.”

I live in the area and called the Police re: an incident in the area last Wednesday - the Police finally rang back yesterday? What a joke. Why did it take from October to now for such action to be taken regading this crack house?. Drugs have been dealt from this area for months. I made the Police aware of this several times but was just ignored. Well done PC Beg you have finally done something!!!

Come on, Ken Shuffles, burnley who says... “Many thousands of employed and unemployed People use Heroin every day and never bother their neighbours“. - Come on Ken, how do you know they don’t bother anyone? Prove it by letting us all know who these drug addicts are. You would be helping them in the long run! - You can’t buy heroin from Tesco so have to buy from drug dealers who often mix undesirable items with it, to increase the volume they have bought to fool the purchaser. They don’t care, scum dealers only care for themselves. - Come on Ken, do us all a favour!
