NEIGHBOURHOOD police are urging Burnley and Padiham residents to attend monthly ward meetings.

Police and Communities Together (PACT) meetings are taking place for all wards this month, and officers are calling on people to come forward with their concerns.

Karen Edwards, neighbourhood Inspector, said: “Every single ward in Burnley and Padiham has a dedicated neighbourhood policing team in their area working with them to keep them safe.

“Through initiatives like PACT, is it is their aim to identify local concerns and tackle them. Where we know there is a clear problem, we can take action – and we do.

“For example, complaints of speeding traffic along Brunshaw Road have resulted in officers carrying out speed checks and enlisting the help of school children, fire officers and paramedics to talk about the impact of speeding.

“And, following complaints of anti-social behaviour in Padiham, officers secured a closure order on an address on Burnley Road, resulting in a significant decrease in anti-social behaviour in the area.

“All we ask is that people come along to the next PACT meeting.”
