Boy band singer Danny Jones got through to the next round of ITV1’s Popstar to Operastar show with McFlying colours!
The Bolton star was given rapturous applause from the audience after his Friday night performance. The 23-year-old admitted beforehand: “I don’t have a clue about opera.”
He was shown in rehearsals struggling to get to grips with the style of singing and breathing patterns.
He was taught a number of new techniques, including doing sit-ups while singing.
But on Friday’s live screening, and in front of his bandmates, he turned on the style to win through to next week’s show. Blur singer Alex James was the first to be voted off after he was in the bottom two with The Saturdays singer Vanessa White.
The other remaining contestants are: Kym Marsh, Bernie Nolan, Jimmy Osmond, Darius Campbell and Marcella Detroit.
