A GANG of teenagers was behind a series of raids across Bury and Bolton in which homes were broken into and the owners forced to hand over their car keys, a court heard.
The youths struck at several addresses across the two towns, leaving a string of terrified victims in their wake.
At Bolton Crown Court yesterday, two 17-year-old boys and a 16-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary.
On June 3, they used a paving slab to break into a house on Briggs Fold Road, Egerton, and took the keys and stole two Volkswagen Golf cars and two mobile phones.
Then, 12 days later, a house in Kingsbury Close, Tottington, was targeted when 17-year-old Daniel Hayes was dragged out of bed and his parents, Paul and Sarah, were woken by the noise. They were forced to hand over the keys to a Ford Focus, a mobile phone and a laptop computer.
On July 6, a house in Whittingham Drive, Ramsbottom, was broken into and the keys to a Honda Civic were taken.
One 17-year-old youth has pleaded guilty to all three aggravated burglaries.
Another 17-year-old boy has admitted aggravated burglary in Tottington and Ramsbottom and the 16-year-old boy has pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary in Tottington.
They will be sentenced on February 8.
