AN aspiring Darwen model beat thousands of hopefuls to be named in the final of a regional modelling competition.
Christopher Hedley, 20, has made it to the final 20 of Galaxy FM’s Manhunt competition and is now in the running to be featured in their all-male 2010 calendar.
Chris, of Anchor Grove, Darwen, said he was astonished and stunned to have been short-listed for the popular competition.
“The thought of being a model has never really crossed my mind.
"It was my girlfriend who suggested I should send a picture in, so I did, then never really thought any more of it,” he said.
“When I looked through the other pictures on Galaxy’s website and saw so many guys who’d entered, I thought I hadn’t a chance.
“So when they called me and said I had been short- listed and invited me for an interview in Manchester, I was shocked.”
Chris, a former Moorland High School pupil, was invited to Galaxy’s radio studios, along with 45 other hopefuls from across the North West.
