A SHOP accused of contributing to a rise in anti-social behaviour has been stripped of its alcohol licence.
The Heywood Road Off licence, in Milnshaw, Accrington, had its permit revoked by the Hyndburn licensing committee.
The store was under review after complaints.
Police said it had sold alcohol to children and that many residents said the outside of the shop was a magnet for youth congregating and causing trouble.
Coun Brian Roberts, chair of licencing committee said: “We took a dim view of all the breaches of the licencing conditions by this premises.
“It was a unanimous decision to revoke the licence as the breaches were causing distress to residents by fuelling anti-social behaviour in the area.
“The council will not tolerate licenced premises disregarding licencing conditions and will revoke licences.”
