THREE sisters are taking the phrase ‘keeping it in the family’ to a new level after impressing coaches at Blackburn Rovers’ centre of excellence.

Jazz Elliott, 15, and her younger sisters Jade, 11, and Justine, nine, are all chasing the same goal: They want to blossom into top young goalkeepers.

The trio, who live in Clayton Brook, near Chorley, currently represent Blackburn Rovers at under 16, under 12 and under 10 levels respectively.

They are believed to be the only three sisters currently signed up at the same time to any of the English FA accredited academies.

And Jazz has even netted a call up by England, after she was drafted into an under 17 squad, despite her tender age.

She has trained frequently with the squad at Bisham Abbey, Buck-inghamshire and was last month put on standby for the European Championships in Macedonia.

Jazz said: “I love playing football and the coaching at Rovers and England is helping me to improve.

“It’s great that my sisters have started in the game too and I try to help them as much as I can.”

Dad Phil, said: “My wife Rachel and I are so proud of the girls.

“They are very passionate and single-minded about the game and are getting some of the best coaching available at Blackburn.”

Jazz is also in the running for a prestigious award as she has been nominated as a Young Rising Star at the Lancashire Sport Awards, which are being held at Blackpool Pleasure Beach next Friday.

Gemma Donnelly, Rovers’ women and girls development officer, said: “The Elliotts are clearly a very talented family.

"It’s pretty unique to see three sisters with such a gift.

“The future of Blackburn Rovers Ladies’ football is in extremely safe hands.”
