RADCLIFFE director Danny Boyle will receive another award tonight to top off a successful year.
He will collect the John Schlesinger Britannia Award for Artistic Excellence in Directing at the Bafta/LA awards ceremony in Los Angeles.
Other stars being honoured at tonight’s ceremony are Robert De Niro, Emily Blunt, Colin Firth and Kirk Douglas.
Danny, a former pupil of St Mary’s RC Primary School, has received worldwide acclaim this year for his film, Slumdog Millionaire.
It has already won a host of awards, including eight Oscars, four Golden Globes and seven Baftas.
The director has also received many individual gongs and was given the freedom of the borough of Bury earlier this year.
