Blackburn man tells of racist attack ordeal

A MAN who was viciously beaten by racist thugs has appealed for help in catching the gang.
The 28-year-old from Audley was racially abused, punched to the ground and kicked by around 10 to 12 white men in a violent assault.
He instinctively put his arms over his head as the blows rained in on him, suffering a broken arm and broken rib.
He recalled: “I had been out with a friend on Friday night – September 26 – and we were walking along King Street at about 12.30am to 1am on the Saturday morning, going to get some food.
“A group of about 12 white youths came running over, shouting racist words. They chased my friend off and just went for me.
“I got punched in the jaw and then when I was on the floor, they were trying to kick me in the head. All I could see were legs. It was terrifying.”
The man, who is too fearful of reprisals to give his name, said he heard a female voice shouting to leave him alone and the gang ran off. As he staggered to his feet and into a taxi, he realised he was in serious pain and went straight to hospital where he was kept in with a snapped arm and broken rib.
Doctors have inserted a metal plate into his arm to pin the bones together.
On his attackers, the man said: “They should be locked up.”
Detective Constable Sal Yusuf said: “It’s a serious crime and a sustained attack.
"There’s no other reason for this attack than racial motivation.
“It’s an unprovoked assault which could have been far more serious had the lady not intervened and the gang ran off.”

The LET dont report every single crime otherwise they would have reported all the racist abuse i have been getting ie assualt, smashing my windows, setting my house on fire there are to many to mention, and guess what im not even asian im british but because i have a little tan these thugs automaticlly assume that i am asian, this is because there to thick headed to even even realise but what the hell come the weekend and when there all drunk il be the local P**i that they feel like attacking i think every one needs to get there facts right first

Not once can i recall an attack on a white person by Asians being labelled as racist but as soon as its the other way round its instantly deemed as such.
All people who commit these sort of assaults are cowardly scum, regardless of creed or colour but for gods sake LT, get some balls and report fairly, at 40p a throw you should be able to afford a decent journo.

Recent Blackburn examples:
Yobs trash allotments - no arrests, so comments are allowed.
Blackburn takeaways burglaries - no arrests, so comments are allowed.

Shadsworth baseball bad attack - arrests, so no comments are allowed.
There are NO exceptions to this policy.
If and when there is an arrest in this instance, then we would not allow any additional comments.

I think the points coming from the posts are that we don't live in a racially harmonious town.
The 'diverse' culture as is called, simply isn't working.
Everyone that I speak to on the race issue feels the same; it isn't working and if anything the racial divides are growing even wider.
It's not enough that the police and so-called community leaders say that it's working, because it isn't. They have to say it works, but ask the people on the ground and they'll tell it differently.

Racist attacks, whether white-on-black, black-on-white, white-on-asian, or any other combination of colours and creeds is despicable. The thing is, attacks are only described as 'racially motivated' when there is evidence to suggest that they are. The fact that a gang of white lads have beat up an Asian (or the other way round) isn't enough on its own - there could be many motivations for it.

On the contrary I have been threatened many a time when walking through Highercroft, Shadsworth, etc.
Not saying that either area is safer, but I've had far less problems in my life from unruly Asians than I have had from english people.

I feel that I am very tolerant of the different faiths that are in my community and liase very well with the asian minority both as friends and with the general public. This is still after an incident when my wife was crossing a zebra crossing in town when a car came screaming to a halt and the passenger decided to climb out and break her cheekbone. I watched this from a window on the second floor of a building and cannot describe how I felt towards the asian man who was shouting racist comments with his arms in the air ready to challenge anyone who came close. I was inches away from giving him the best hiding of his life if I could of got hold of him and this was not through colour or religious beliefs but the scum he represented. Scum is scum no matter what colour or creed and people should remember that, there are good and bad in all cultures so look past the colour of the skin, you never know you just might have something to talk about.

As for someone of the likes of you to challenge me that is stooping down too low for me to come to your level.
Suffice to say that i have walked along Whalley Range and through Bastwell on many occasions during the day and evening with absolutely NO problems. If you adopt an aggressive manner and posture no matter where you are in this country you are going to attract attention. "Nad" do you and your mates fall into that category?
Oh and of course I am white and a true patriot at that.
I have had the opportunity to walk through many "ethnic areas" up and down this great country of ours without any problems.
These include

-Chapeltown, Leeds
-Keighley
-Lozells, Birmingham
-Wolverhampton
-Walsall
-Barking,London
-Hounslow,London
-Brixton, London
-Ladbroke Grove, London
-Tottenham, London
-Toxteth, Liverpool
etc. I could go on ........ Never had any problems waking through these areas which have been inhabited by Asians, Afro-Carribean, African and Chinese people. The people really get on well with white people, especially in cosmopolitan London.
Go on some demo's into Central London and down "Whitehall" and into Trafalgar Square. People of all colours and ethnicities can be seen acting in harmony.

same thing happened to my friend a few weeks backs. she pulled out in front of an asian guy and he followed her to supermarket car park, got out of his car so she locked her doors.he ran over kicking and punching at her car trying to get at her,telling her he was going to kill her, she had 2 kids in the back and they were hysterical. she is so scared of going out at all now.
they think they are above the law and can do what they like,because nothing is ever done about it

These Idiots not only come from Asian backgrounds as i have experienced when i was younger, Me and my kid brother used to go into town every saturday when the Apollo cinema was open in Blackburn to watch a film and then go to into Mcdonalds for some food, and then make our way home through morrisons store and up Cicely lane.
Well as we where making our way out of morrisons as usual onto cicely lane we saw a group of white kids, who for no reason at all started calling us the usual and then started to run after us chasing us back into morrisons, the first person we came accross was a white man in his late 20s, I stopped him and said to him please can you help us we are getting chased by these boys, his answer was lifting his hands up and shrugging his shoulders but i got to admit the second man who we stopped who was also white did help us and walked up with us. looking back at this incident, i didn't know why these boys chased us, now i know it was because of our skin colour.
Regardless of things like this and others i suffer even today i have not taken it to heart and blame it on the whole white community and even today if i see a person in trouble or distress regardless of their colour, religion or whatever people like to pick on nowadays i will stop and help them as much as i can, as i have in the past. So stop with this BULL and see the whole picture and not one a few dimwits show you....

Plus there has been loads of white beat up in the Audley area but the L.E.T dont seem to report on them only if it ends in some one being killed.
but as soon as one asian is beaten up there all over it like a rash.
