A FORMER pub manager who ran over a suspected burglar, causing multiple fractures, has walked free from court.
Kevin Barr was in the pub car park when he saw the man emerging from a garage, where items from the pub were being stored while it was being renovated.
Barr, aged 39, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving following the incident in the car park of The Nevison public house in Plank Lane, Leigh.
Judge Gerald Clifton ordered Barr, of Castle Hill, Newton-le-Willows, to carry out 150 hours’ unpaid work and banned him from driving for two years. He also ordered him to pay £300 towards the prosecution costs.
