THERE was Fairtrade galore when a special market was held.
More than 30 stalls offered Fairtrade goods and local produce at the Reebok Stadium on Monday evening.
The event was staged as part of Fairtrade Fortnight, which runs until Sunday.
More than 500 visitors were able to purchase fairly traded, organic and ethically sourced food, drink, craft items, sports equipment, jewellery and clothing.
Bolton chef Mike Harrison demonstrated a range of recipes and there was also music from Smithills School Senior Brass Qunitet, groups from Bolton Music Service and Bolton’s African Drummers.
Jim Hollyman, co-ordinator for Fairtrade in Bolton, said: “It went brilliantly.
“We were very pleased with the turnout of more than 500.
“We are sure it has helped to raise awareness of Fairtrade.”
