BLACKBURN Rovers have appointed Sam Allardyce as their new manager on a three-year contract.

Allardyce emerged as the clear favourite to replace Paul Ince after Graeme Souness ruled himself out of the running.

And Rovers have now confirmed that Allardyce - the former manager of Newcastle United, Bolton Wanderers, Notts County, Blackpool and Limerick - is the club's new manager.

A club statement said: "Blackburn Rovers are delighted to announce the appointment of Sam Allardyce as manager with immediate effect.

"Sam has signed a three-year contract."

Allardyce will be unveiled at a Press conference at Ewood Park tomorrow at 4pm.
