A BID to build six apartments is set to be given the go-ahead.

Developers want to site one-bedroom flats on land next to Finsley Street, Briercliffe, after a previous application was rejected.

In August, councillors decided the parking provision in the proposal was “unacceptable”.

Those problems have now been addressed and planners recommend the application in a report to members of Burnley Council’s development control committee.

They say: “The amended plan indicates a car parking area of 13 spaces and the highway authority is satisfied that this is acceptable.

“The previous application showed a poor car parking layout with no landscaping but the current proposal indicates that the car park will be broken up with some landscaping to soften its impact on the street scene.”

Development control committee members will meet on Thursday.
