THE CONGREGATION at St Hilda’s Church in Whittaker Lane, Prestwich, saw out last month with an entertaining concern called Songs For September delivered by their special guests, the Huddersfield Choral Society Junior choirs.
Held on September 28 to raise cash for a disabled-access toilet, a kitchen and more community facilities at the church, the concert attracted a packed house.
St Hilda’s parishioner, Marion Lees said: “The choirs and several soloists, under their musical director Susan Whittaker sang a wide range and varied selection of songs to a very high standard which impressed, moved and delighted the audience, accompanied by Jane Robinson.”
