A woman was caught drug driving on three occasions in the space of five months.

Blackburn Magistrates' Court heard how on one occasion Abbie Hanson had three small children in the car.

Hanson, 29, of Cedar Avenue, Haslingden, pleaded guilty to driving while over the limit for cannabis in July, August and December.

She was remanded on bail for the preparation of a pre-sentence report and made subject to an interim disqualification.

Bilal Saeed, prosecuting, said Hanson was stopped in Manchester Road, Haslingden, in July when she was found to be over the limit for the Class B drug.

The second offence, in August, resulted from a road traffic collision in Weld Road, Birkdale, on Merseyside.

The collision was severe enough to activate the airbags, and there were three children in the car at the time.

Hanson failed to attend a court hearing for that offence and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

In December police stopped her in Church Street, Haslingden, because of the warrant and she was again found to be over the limit for cannabis.

Shabir Khattack, in mitigation, said he accepted it would be in his client’s best interest to adjourn the case for a pre-sentence report.
