Illegal vapes and tobacco worth thousands of pounds have been seized from shops in Bacup.
Police visited a number of shops in Bacup town centre yesterday (September 15), after carrying out two drugs raids earlier that day where they seized the drugs and made an arrest.
Officers visited the town centre stores and seized the illegal products, worth several thousands of pounds, as well as issuing two community protection notices to the businesses.
Yesterday, a spokesperson for the police said: “Following on from this morning’s drug warrants, officers from the Rossendale Neighbourhood Policing and Exploitation Teams have been working with partners from Trading Standards, Licensing, Rossendale Council, Lancashire Fire & Rescue and LCC in addressing community concerns around a number of businesses in Bacup town centre.
“We encourage the community to continue to report these concerns so the right agency can take action as these people are affecting legitimate businesses who are trying to make an honest living. We are still gathering all the results of today’s activity so will update when we have further.
“You can help by reporting community concerns to us by signing up to In The Know.
“Or you can report anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers Independent UK charity taking crime information anonymously."
