SIX teenage girls from Blackburn, were commended for the way they have overcome personal challenges to form a community spirited Girls Group at their school.
Natalie Browning, Emma Walsh, Sarah Counsell, Robyn Jackson, Shannon Tedeschi and Sam Pemberton from the Witton Park Girls Group were commended after being nominated by PC Vanessa Rushton.
The girls aged 13 and 14-years-old were nominated for the award by PC Vanessa Rushton.
PC Rushton said: "The girls have been excellent ambassadors for the school and they have taken on board new advice and suggestions that have started to help them to turn their lives around."
