COMMENDED: Joshua Denson with his youth worker Mashuq Hussain who nominated him
JOSHUA Denson, 15, who received a highly commended award was nominated for the honour by Mashuq Hussain, senior youth worker from Marsden Heights Community College, Nelson.
As well as being the chair of the young persons group Youthside, Joshua gave his time, effort and commitment in organising a community festival last summer.
The awards ceremony heard that he inspired his peers into taking action and he took the lead in organising a community event for over that had four main areas - a musical stage, an activity area, food area and community information area.
