HOUSE music fans: get ready to put your hands up in the air, for Retro is back in Blackburn for its annual "Maundy Thursday" Easter special one-night-only event.

Founded in Burnley's famous Angels nightclub back in 1982 Retro has become world-wide recognised for its sell-out events.

The event, famous for playing clubbing classics, has gone from strength to strength and now attracts more than 15,000 clubbers a month to the biggest nightspots across the country, not to mention the weekly residency at Pacha in Ibiza.

But no matter how big the Retro machine gets, organisers reckon they wouldn't dream of forgetting the annual Blackburn jaunt, at Liquid nightclub, St Peter's Street, Blackburn, on Thursday, March 20.

This year will see founder DJ Paul Taylor take to the decks to spin some house classics.

"Every year we put Retro on in Blackburn, and every year it's a sell out," said Paul Taylor.

"The crowd there are fantastic and love the Retro sound. It's an event I look forward to all year round. Our team cant wait to throw yet another memorable party."

Retro events are also teaming up with Supersocial, the guys behind East Lancashire's biggest New Year's Eve party Loaded at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel, Clayton-le-Moors.

Supersocial promoter Jamie Harvey said: "It's great to be working with Paul and Retro. Its nice to be running events with other people who are just as passionate about what we do as we are.

Supersocial will be hosting the back room at this year's Retro with their latest club night, called Body Language.

On the decks, as well as DJ Paul Taylor (who is playing an exclusive three-hour set) there will be Liquid regulars Ben Taylor and Ricky Isted.

In Body Language will be resident Ben O'Connor and local hero Lee Walsh.

The event starts at 10pm with a pre-party at Evolution Lounge from 9pm. Admission is £10.
