BLACKBURN'S Wayne Hemingway is urging people to save water after it emerged that some parts of Britain have less available water per head than the Sudan.
Every day the UK uses more than 16 billion litres of tap water and, due to increasing population size, by 2027 it is predicted that the average supply of water will drop by a third.
Experts are concerned that our level of consumption is not sustainable in the long term, and if we do not take action now, the UK will face increased water shortages in the future.
In response, a new campaign has been launched by Waterwise and Ariel to highlight the importance or water saving.
