One hundred years of home inspiration and innovation are marked this year as the iconic Ideal Home Show celebrates the past, the present and the future.

The UK's best loved home show runs from March 14 - April 6 at London's Earl's Court and courtesy of the Lancashire Telegraph you can be there absolutely FREE.

Over the last 100 years the Show has been the launch pad for countless household products including the toaster and electric kettle (1920), the microwave (1947) and the electric grass mower (1970).

And the Show has also been in the vanguard when it comes to environmental concerns, unveiling the first energy efficient kitchen in 1989.

This year's Ideal Home Show will not only feature its trademark full size show houses, including The Ultimate Eco House, but will also be a celebration of innovation past and future.

For almost a quarter of a century the Show has highlighted the importance of green topics and this year many of these ideas are taken a stage further in the Eco House.

A trip down Century Street takes you on a nostalgic journey charting the dramatic changes to homes and lifestyles from 1908 to date.

And to reinforce the show's eco message, The London Development Agency is rebuilding its London Green Home (recently seen in Trafalgar Square) at the Show.

For the ultimate in living, the Dream Home and Guest House is a stunning example and would cost around £6million if it were to be built for real!

The Innovation Nation area is the centrepiece of the Show and is a celebration of British design talent and its impact on all our home lives.
