Pupils at Padiham St. Leonard's Primary School have taken delivery of a tank of sea trout eggs.
The children will see the eggs hatch and feed the young fish before releasing them into a local river.
The scheme is part of a Ribble Catchment Conservation scheme called " Trout in the Classroom".
Mr Stephen Hatton from the scheme stated that, hopefully, in years to come, the children will see adult fish returning to spawn in the very same stream into which they were released.
