A MAN who claimed to have drunk two bottles of vodka behaved aggressively when taken to hospital with a head wound.
Blackburn magistrates heard that nursing staff asked a security officer to stay with Carl Wogden while he waited to be seen by a doctor.
But without warning Wogden jumped up, claiming he had seen one of the nurses who had killed his brother", and head-butted a glass pane in a door.
Wogden, 44, of Lion Street, Church, pleaded guilty to criminal damage at Royal Blackburn Hospital. He was bailed for preparation of a pre-sentence report.
Jonathan Taylor, defending, said Wogden had suffered a great deal of tragedy. He had lost a young child, his father had died in his presence and then his brother had died.
"All this had quite an impact on him," said Mr Taylor.
"His alcohol consumption increased and this had an impact on his mental state.
"He knows that his behaviour at the hospital was unforgivable."
