A woman is "lucky to be alive" after fleeing a blaze at her Accrington flat.
The woman was asleep in the first floor Juniper Court flat at 3am yesterday morning when the smoke alarm alerted her to the fire.
Fire crews said the blaze started in the electrical unit and caused severe smoke damage.
Accrington Fire Station watch manager Alex Fletcher said: "The lady was extremely lucky to get out of the flat alive.
"The smoke alarm alerted her to the fire otherwise we could have been dealing with a fatality."
