A 'SURPRISE' street performance is coming to Lancaster city centre this Saturday.
It will aim to highlight the alleged 'devastating' effect that plans by developers Centros Miller for a new city retail block will have on the existing city centre and community life.
Centros is the firm behind ambitious plans to redevelop the Canal Corridor North site with a shopping mall and new town square proposal.
The performance is organised by people involved in the 'Carnival of Culture' being planned in the city centre as a protest this spring.
It will involve around 20 people and a giant maggot - and will start at the top of Penny Street at 1.30pm before mooving through the city centre towards Market Square and then to Stonewell.
