PARENTS are being asked to stay on their best behaviour with the launch of a new road safety campaign.

The Department for Transport's (DfT) CopyCat campaign aims to raise parents' awareness that they have a responsibility to teach their children road safety and can do so by setting a good example.

Last year around 11,500 children were killed or injured on Britain's roads as pedestrians, cyclists or car passengers.

CopyCat is aimed mainly at parents of four to 11 year olds.

Supported by Lancashire County Council, some of the campaign points include not using your mobile when crossing the road; never cross when the red man is showing and always wear a seatbelt.
