HYNDBURN Chamber of Trade has announced it will be re-named when the borough changes its title early next year.
The group, representing shops and businesses in the area, will return to its original name of Accrington and District Chamber of Trade.
The president, Ian Smith, said: "People know where Accrington is because of Accrington Stanley and the Accrington Pals, so it makes sense to change our name if the name of the borough changes."
Leader of the council Peter Britcliffe said: "This is a bold decision and the chamber is to be congratulated. They are right and this will mean that wherever they are people will know where they are from - unlike the current situation.
"Let us hope other will follow."
Hyndburn becomes Accrington and District in the New Year.
