THE Bishop of Burnley helped St Cuthbert's Church, Darwen, raise £734 by bag-packing at Sainsburys in the town.
The Rt Rev John Goddard popped into the store to assist parishioners and brownies in their task.
Saturday's event was one of a series of successful events planned by members of the church's fundraising committee, who are active throughout the year as they raise money and encourage Christian fellowship with their exciting programme at St Cuthbert's.
This Saturday, they host a silent auction between 11am and 2pm (20p entrance) and on Friday, October 26, there is a beetle drive at 7.30pm.
