Gangs of youths in gun battle

Police are investigating after two gangs of youths fought a gun battle on the streets of Manchester.

Officers found 10 bullet casings on the ground, gunshot damage to a car and one bullet lodged in a fence, after the exchange of fire between the rival groups.

The fight broke out around 7.50pm on Monday in Holywood Street, Moss Side.

Shortly after 8am yesterday, police also received a report of damage caused to a Vauxhall Corsa in Maine Road, around the corner from Holywood Street.

Officers have confirmed that the damage was caused by gunshots. No injuries have been reported.

Police believe the two incidents are linked.

Moss Side has suffered endemic gun violence for decades. The latest high-profile victim of the area's gun gangs is Jessie James, the 15-year-old boy shot dead as he cycled through a park in September last year.

No-one has yet been charged with his murder.

There are laws but no penalties. If the penalties were say 15 years for possession and 25 years for firing a weapon with no remission it wouldn't be such a cool thing to do.

Fek Gazz I'm hardly likely to subscribe to Ayran supremacist nonsense when the indigenous (by which of course I mean predominantly white CofE background) population of this country is itself predominantly thick, nasty brutish and uncultured. That doens't mean I can't believe that certain groups of the human population, AS A WHOLE, are even worse. Or is that too subtle for some?

Call me racist for assuming that the gun battle was between black??? But, who are the racists???? The people who say that we can have a black assiciation but not a white one. There can be the festival of light but we can't have Christmas. There is Ramadam but not Easter. This is OUR country, leave our identities alone and get rid of the trouble makers.

You have a point im fed up of hearing about bodies of children floating in the river thames sacrificed in a voodoo ritual - heck thats normal for a western country isn't it!
