POLICE investigating the murder of Burnley man David Brown have again been given more time to quiz a man arrested at the weekend.
A man, 38, of no fixed address, was arrested on Saturday, and he was today still being questioned by detectives after a further extension to his custody was granted.
Police now have until this afternoon to continue quizzing the man and if they require more time they must go before a magistrate.
David, who went to St Stephen's Primary School, Burnley, Mansfield High School, Brierfield, and then Burnley College, was found dead outside the door to his flat at 7.30am on Friday 21 September.
David, 24, who moved to Manchester four years ago, had been on a night out in the city before he began to walk home to his flat in Chorlton Road, Hulme, at around 2.30am on the Friday.
His body was discovered outside his building at 7.30am.
He had been stabbed three times in the thighs in what police believe may have been a "street robbery gone wrong".
It is not known whether he was attacked outside his flat or if he had managed to walk some way after suffering his injuries.
A post-mortem examination revealed that he died as the result of a stab wound to his left thigh.
