TWO members of staff at a high school have been suspended

Haslingden High School has now launched an investigation after being made aware of an allegation.

School bosses would not reveal the nature of the allegation or comment further on the issue.

Mark Jackson, headteacher at Haslingden High School, said: "We are aware of an allegation which is currently being investigated.

"Two members of staff have been suspended pending the outcome of this investigation. We will not be commenting further at this time."

Reports in the national media allege that two senior members of staff were caught by a pupil having an affair in school time.

The pair could also face a further investigation by the National College for Teaching and Leadership.

If the allegations against them are proven then they could be banned from the classroom.

Parents have been speculation about the nature of the allegations on social media.

It is understood the alleged affair was rumbled on a revision day.
