OUR Clarets jury discuss the key issues at Turf Moor every week. Today it's Gareth Southgate's England squad. How many Burnley players SHOULD be in the squad?

MATT RIGGS

I think there are at least four players who deserve to be called up for the friendlies later this month. Nick Pope deserves a call up as, quite simply, he's the best performing English goalkeeper right now.

Ben Mee and James Tarkowski are an already established pairing at centre back so I think it's worth seeing how they would do on the international scene and Jack Cork has continued to do well in midfield.

Doubtless it will be the same names, however. The reality of the situation is, we're not going to win the World Cup in Russia, so why not give some tournament experience to different players? Can only improve our chances in the future.

ANDREW GREENWOOD

I think we could get carried away and say four or five but realistically, I think we’ll have two in there – if we’re lucky!

I think Nick Pope should be a definite after his performances and if you’re going off stats then he leads the way. I also think James Tarkowski deserves a chance but I don’t think he’ll get picked.

There’s also an argument for Ben Mee but he always seems to get overlooked, maybe his distribution isn’t quite international class. As for Ashley Barnes – he’s Austrian!

I think Nick Pope should be nailed on to start that first friendly. He took on Joe Hart at West Ham last Saturday and won. Jack Butland is a good keeper but is making mistakes. Has our stopper made similar errors?  I think the answer is no.

I think there too much quality at this stage for Matt Lowton to be called up but both our centre halves deserve a call up. Even during the winless run, both Ben Mee and James Tarkowski were not having poor games so I would call up at least three Clarets.
