THE RBS branch in Radcliffe is closed today due to a break-in last night.
The Blackburn Street branch’s alarm was activated shortly before midnight and police were dispatched to the scene.
Strategic support inspector Jim Jones of Bury police said: “officers attended an alarm activation at the bank last night shortly before midnight.
“Entry had been forced through a rear door.”
Officers are still dealing with the incident and are ascertaining whether anything was taken.
Little Lever and Darcy Lever councillor, Sean Hornby, said he saw a on the front door of the branch when he went to use the branch this morning, Friday March 9.
He said the note reads: “Due to an incident last night, the bank is currently closed and will not reopen today.”
A spokesman for RBS said: “We can confirm that an incident took place and we are assisting police with their enquiries.”
