FIREFIGHTERS were kept busy last night with multiple wheelie bin fires in Farnworth.
The crew from Farnworth Fire Station said they were called out three times to deal with bins which had been set alight with rubbish in them.
The fires were set around the Farnworth Central Park area and took the fire service around 20 minutes each time to deal with.
Watch manager Paul Harrison said: "We would urge people to bring their wheelie bins in once they've been emptied."
Mr Harrison said youths were thought to have stolen the bins and set them alight and that Greater Manchester Police had been made aware of the incidents.
The crew received their first call out to a wheelie bin fire at around 10pm last night.
