OUR regular picture spreads and daily photographs on the letters page from members of The Bolton News Camera Club clearly demonstrate that Bolton is full of talented amateur photographers.

Whether it is a superb shot showcasing our local wildlife or a perfectly composed picture of one of the town’s landmarks, the images impress us every week.

So, we thought it was about time we offered the chance to win a prize with the first Bolton News Camera Club photography competition.

The competition, which is open to all local amateur photographers, will be based around the theme of Hidden Bolton.

We want your pictures of the less celebrated and well-known parts of our town that you feel deserve their moment in the spotlight.

This could be an interesting detail on a building, an historic place that you think has been forgotten or just somewhere that is special to you.

The competition launches today and closes on Friday, April 6.

During this period, you can submit as many images from as many locations as you like, but please make sure you mark your entry Hidden Bolton, give us a brief description of what the image is of and what it was that made you choose it as an entry. We also need your name and an email address and phone number.

The top three images, selected by our chief photographer Gus Sivyer, will win prizes.

The top prize winner will receive £50 cash, a printed canvas of their image and a bottle of bubbly.

The two other best images will win a printed canvas and a bottle of bubbly.

Your submissions should be posted to the Bolton News Camera Club Facebook page at facebook.com/BNCameraClub or emailed to pictures@theboltonnews.co.uk

Good luck and happy snapping!
