NEIGHBOURS were left stranded in a lift after it broke down.
Fire crews were called to rescue a man and woman from the faulty hydraulic passenger lift at St Augustine's Court, in Tonge Moor.
The woman in her 70s and man in his 60s were neighbours in the block of flats, in Thicketford Road.
Watch manager for Bolton North Richard Henthorne said: "We were called at 7.30pm on Monday, January 1.
"We released the doors and lifted the man and woman out to safety and then called for lift repair workers.
"They were a bit distressed but both okay."
