ASBO twins Katie and Ashleigh Lynch had their interim anti-social behaviour orders extended after a court was told that they may have autism.
The 19-year-olds, from Fairfield Avenue, Waterfoot, were due to face a hearing for a full ASBO application last Friday at Burnley Magistrates Court but the case was adjourned for the sisters' solicitor to seek medical evidence.
David Leach, representing the twins, told the court it was thought the teenagers may be suffering from autism.
The twins were made subject of interim orders earlier this year after complaints of alleged drunken and nuisance behaviour and are said to have breached them within four hours of them being imposed.
They deny the allegations and are due to stand trial accused of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, at Rossendale Magistrates Court on September 19.
The interim ASBOs were extended until August 29 and the application will be heard at Reedley Magistrates Court.
Under the interim orders the twins are banned from using, or inciting any other person to use threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
They must not be drunk in a public place and are prohibited from drinking alcohol in a public place or carrying open drink containers in a public place.
