A MAN who sold counterfeit cigarettes and tobacco without health warnings on has been fined.
Burnley Magistrates heard that on July 1, 2016, Mohammed Afzal sold a packet of PECT cigarettes in Oxford Street, Burnley, which did not carry a health warning. On the same day, the 21-year-old sold a packet of Richmond cigarettes which did not display a warning.
On September 27, Afzal sold on packet of Golden Virginia hand rolling tobacco which did not display a health warning, while on the following day he sold two pack packets of counterfeit Richmond cigarettes.
On February 11 he sold a packet of Amber Leaf hand a packet of Golden Virginia hand rolling tobacco which did not display a warning.
He pleaded guilty to four counts of supplying a tobacco product which did not display a combined health warning and two counts of selling goods bearing packaging which bore a sign likely to be mistaken for a registered trade mark.
He was fined £120, with £370 cots and a £30 surcharge.
