AS the centre of Bolton’s nightlife, Bradshawgate today is a constantly evolving collection of bars.
These pictures illustrate when more commercial and office space could be found on the thoroughfare.
In 1990 there was outcry when rumours of the Swan’s demolition emerged. Thankfully, the impressive structure remains largely unchanged today.
Another picture shows day one of the annual wakes holiday fortnight, which began with a massive storm that left thousands without power. Elsewhere we see the VAT sub-office, closed in 1993.
