WOULD you spend more than £25 on a present for your child’s tutor?
A survey of 1,000 users on parenting website mumsnet.com has shown that one in ten will spend that much on their little one’s teacher.
The average spend was £10.60 with the most popular gift being chocolates (bought by 23 per cent). Vouchers, alcohol, homemade gifts and flowers were also popular.
The majority of parents (65 per cent) said they gave presents because they likes to show appreciation, and nearly eight out of ten said that their child enjoys giving their teacher a gift.
But other parents have said they don’t feel the need to buy their teacher a present.
Indeed, is buying teacher a present a new phenomenon, or something that’s been around for years?
We’re interested to hear your thoughts on whether you or your child bought their teacher a present.
