A WINDOW cleaner jumped to the wrong conclusion after seeing two silhouettes in his partner's house late at night.

Blackburn magistrates heard Robert Marshall had failed to accept the relationship was over after Diane Morrison had finished with him.

But when he turned up at her house in the early hours thinking she was with another man she was actually at home with a female friend.

Marshall, 32, of Wordsworth Street, Burnley, pleaded guilty to harassing Miss Morrison. He was made subject to a community order for 12 months with 30 days rehabilitation activity requirement, fined £25 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £85 victim surcharge. He was also made subject to a restraining order for 12 months prohibiting him from having any contact with Miss Morrison or entering Palace Street where she lives.

Mark Williams, defending, said : "He put two and two together and got five."
