A MUSIC event has given its support to the fundraising appeal for the victims of the Manchester terror attack.

Boltfest 2017 will be backing the campaign launched by Manchester Evening News when it opens its gates this weekend.

The live music event in Queens Park is donating money raised through the sale of its £2 programme to the appeal.

Organiser Jools Taylor said he hoped people would stand with the ‘Boltfest family’ when it pays respects to the victims of the arena attack.

He said: “The whole Boltfest family is shocked and saddened by the events at the Manchester Arena, grateful one of our own caught up in the event’s is safe and sending our thoughts, love and prayers to all those affected.

“This Saturday and Sunday at 2pm Boltfest will pay respect to those affected. Join us, as we know the Spirit of Manchester will prevail and terrorism will never win.

“Organisers of Boltfest have offered condolences to the families and loved ones affected by the incident.”

Programmes will be on sale on the doors when they open at 11am on Saturday and Sunday.

Visitors have been warned to arrive early as extra security has been put in place.

Last entry is 7.30pm and events finish at 10pm.
